I finally got myself a blender in my new place, and though I’ve quickly realised it really can’t handle anything beyond smoothies, it is still good for my morning ritual.
Living in a tropical climate means that not only are cold drinks and absolute necessity, but you also don’t want to feel bogged down by your food, whether that’s because it’s too heavy or because you’ve eaten too much. Fresh fruit is available in abundance in my neighbourhood, and that makes the perfect situation for super healthy, super fresh breakfast smoothies like this one…with no need for added sweetener!
1 cup almond milk
1 cup coconut milk
1 frozen banana
1/2 a mango, chopped and peeled
1/2 a medium papaya, chopped and peeled
1 cup of ice
Blend, blend, blend!
Look…it even looks like sunshine!
This smoothie is amazing for me in particular as it hits three of my biggest food additions: papaya, mango and coconut milk. I might have to stop myself drinking this every day, lest I turn into a giant smoothie full of natural sugars.
